The basal leaves of Sidalcea neomexicana are quite different from the cauline leaves which are more deeply lobed, with narrow leaflets. If varieties are recognized, ours would fall into subsp./var. neomexicana. The basal leaves may be absent when the plant flowers.Rare in this area and uncommon in northern Utah.
